Laser Not working

My Laser beam will not work, the distance between the emitter and receiver is too short inside my bin, so it’s always going off, I’m going to go to plan B and just create a button which activates my sound. Not impressed at all, as I spent a long time on soldering and trying to get my laser working and was sort of enjoying too.
