Had presentations, I think went pretty well, Some of the things I would change if I could would be the size and material’s of the bin, and maybe the location ( Due to rain)

Doing all my filming

Have lost track of time and didnt take into account that it might PISS down with rain for a while, so wasnt able to leave my bin outside and get proper shots, so just got Meng and Jeremy to help me out and drop a few cigi butts inside.

Fire Proof

Just realized that plastic bin wasn’t the best idea to go with putting lit cigarette butts,  So been researching how i could make it sort of fire proof, and found this interesting product which you spray on things and it sort of makes it fire proof , only problem is It only works with fabric so planning to cover the inside and top of the my bin with some cheap material and see how it goes

Battery

Found a sweet 12v battery from  the lighting store on Ghuznee St to power my I/R laser beam, Everything going good, had some trouble with the laser not working but the problem was with how I was testing it,

Laser Not working

My Laser beam will not work, the distance between the emitter and receiver is too short inside my bin, so it’s always going off, I’m going to go to plan B and just create a button which activates my sound. Not impressed at all, as I spent a long time on soldering and trying to get my laser working and was sort of enjoying too.

Bins

Went to warehouse and bought the bottom pictured pedal bin and took it apart, was planning to drill a hole in top, but then thought how could I make it more aesthetically pleasing so went and got the round black cylinder which I’m going to apply a ciggarete butt texture to

Possible Loactions

Trying to figer out where would be he best place to put my instillation, I’m scared of the constant rain is going to ruin it, but I can put it inside, I think the best place will be under the Victoria Sign Outside, thats where people like to smoke and Its visible to everyone

Finished I/R Sensor

Finally finished soldiering my infrared sensor, was tedious at first but after awhile got use it and it went a lot quicker. Going to test out the I/R bam soon, hopefully it works

Project 2 Idea

I have decide to go with the smoking idea for project 2, Basically I want to set up an installation out side the front doors where everyone smokes, And with my installation I want to convince them to properly dispose of their cigarette buts, instead of just throwing them on the road
